THE REINDEER ROAD™ STORY

The 2020 Christmas season was wrought by pandemic-related shutdowns of holiday traditions, restaurants, events, skating rinks, activities, etc. Many families sought to fill the void and find joy by driving around to view residential holiday light displays. As stated so well in the Prayer of St. Francis, “Where there is darkness, light.”

Naperville business owner and Park Commissioner Rich Janor discovered that Christmas light displays brought joy to his family (Rhonda, Archer, Brooklyn and Caiden) during a challenging and dark time in our history. He sought to create an event that would bring this same joy and light to the entire community and any holiday visitors that wished to attend.

Fellow Naperville business owner Matt Baker of Brookdale Lighting created a popular neighborhood light show in his cul-de-sac when he was only twelve years of age. Now, nine years later, his Manchester Lights Show has outgrown the neighborhood, so Baker has joined Janor in the creation of a new lighting experience, Reindeer Road™.

Together, Janor and Baker have developed an attraction that will be entirely new and innovative. Visitors and fans of the Manchester Lights Show will no longer find that show in the neighborhood. Instead, everyone should plan to come to Naperville’s Highpoint Church to check out Reindeer Road™, THE place to get into the Christmas spirit!
